Loving husband and father Mr. Ocie Clem Gunn, 90, of the Rosewood Community was received into Heaven Saturday, August 28, 2010 in the company of numerous friends and family. He was born October 30, 1919 in the Grice Community to Alvin and Emma Watson Gunn and was a lifetime resident of Upshur county. Mr. Gunn was a deacon of the Rosewood Missionary Baptist Church for 60 years, a farmer and was a supervisor for Letourneau and Trailmobile Manufacturing before his retirement. A veteran of WWII he served in the Naval Amphibious forces and participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Japan. Mr. Gunn is survived by his wife of 71 years, Imogene Barnett Gunn of Rosewood; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Clem and Pam Gunn of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Darrell and Iris Gunn of Harlingen; Five granddaughters, Ronna, Stacy, Kayla, Chelsy and Christa and their extended families. Mr. Gunn was preceded in death by his son Alvin Eugene Gunn in 1966. Services will be held 2:00 P.M, Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Rosewood Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating and burial to follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. The family will receive friends at Croley Funeral Home on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
