Novelle "Nell" Bishop

Services for Novelle "Nell" Bishop, 92, of Gilmer, will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer with Rev. Clay Potter and Rev. Dickey Mauk officiating. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery. Nell was born January 5, 1924, in Bloomburg, TX, to Elbert and Perna Solley. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Concord Baptist Church. She loved her church and church family. She also loved to work in the garden and growing flowers. Nell served on the Concord Cemetery committee for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Bishop; her parents, Elbert and wife, Ola Stolley, and mother, Perna Whetstone Stolley; and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
