GILMER - Funeral services for Norma Ruth Thompson, 90, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 8, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with Eddy Coleman and Reggie Nalls officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Upshur County. Mrs. Thompson passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in Longview. She was born on December 8, 1925 in Gilmer to Ellis Ray and Myrtle Barrett Ray. She was a homemaker and a member of West Mountain Church of Christ. She is survived by her son, Hugh Thompson and his wife Marcia, of Nacogdoches; daughters, Sue Nalls and her husband Reggie, of Conway, Arkansas and Jeannie Coleman and her husband Eddy, of Gilmer; brothers, Paul Ray, of Gilmer and Ellis Wayne Ray, of Starrville; grandchildren, Donna Hill, Chris Coleman, Britt Taylor, Shannon Coleman, Heather Thompson, Ian Thompson and Blythe Thompson Smith; great-grandchildren, Jordan Hill, Addison Coleman, Jackson Hill, Jon Lawson Coleman, Reagan Coleman and Eleanor Ruth Smith. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hugh Thompson who passed away in 1992, her twin brother, Harmon Bruce Ray, and two sisters, Vivian Peel and Laurine Hill. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 3, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
