Nazarine Burks

Graveside Services for Nazarine Burks, 95, of Gilmer, will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Kilgore City Cemetery with Brother Chad McEntee officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1st, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Mrs. Burks passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at home.
Nazarine was born on September 16, 1923, outside of Crockett, Texas, to Wilsa G. and Irma (Walker) Gossett. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert D. Burks, son, Kenneth Ray Burks and daughter, Lucille Vickery. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter in law, Janie Burks; grandchildren, Michael Burks and wife Shonda, Allen Powell and wife Nancy and Becky Cross and husband Jon, and five great grandchildren.
