Nadine Petty

Family and friends are grieving the loss of Nadine Steelman Petty, 99, who died after a massive stroke Monday, Sept. 17th, 2012. She was born Oct. 3, 1912, to Giles and Texianna Steelman of Latch, Texas. She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart/husband of 74 years, Ray D. Petty on March 3, 2004. Both were raised in Latch, Texas and grew up as members of Hopewell Methodist Church, where she will be laid to rest. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 with Reverend Jim Ross officiating. She also is survived by daughter, Anna La'Ray Merkel of Kerrville; son, Dr. Larry D. Petty and wife, Charlotte of Kerrville; daughter, Janene McKay and husband, Scott of San Antonio; nine grandchildren, E.A. Butch Millican and wife, Kay of Plano; Michael R. Millican of Dallas; Mrs. Mallory Riviere and husband Randal of Albuquerque, NM , Mrs. Abbigail Beccaccio and husband, Livio of Jacksonville, FL, Scott McKay III and wife, Jill, Mrs. Robin Dallenbach and husband, Jeff, Keith McKay and wife, Kellie, all of San Antonio, Robert Williams of Corpus Christi, and Bryan Williams of Florida; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Nadine and Ray had been members of the First United Methodist Church since moving to Kerrville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Fund of this church at 321 Thompson Dr., Kerrville, TX 78028.
