Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Pruitt, 85, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Travis Gulley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Pisgah Cemetery. Mrs. Pruitt passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She was born on December 1, 1928, in Dermott, Arkansas to What Lacey and Irean Willard Lacy. In 1977, she married J. W. "Tex" Pruitt and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Pruitt was a seamstress for Honeytogg"s and a member of United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann Rice Pinchera of Oil City, LA., Linda Boyd Adams of Pauls Valley, OK., brother, Leo Lacey of Mira Loma, CA; sister, Betty Simshauser of Bonne Terre, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Deba Rice Files, Tanya Rice Dinkins, Shonda Kirby, Stephanie Baker, Aubrey Ripley, Christopher Ripley, Michael Ripley; ten great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Bethanie Baker, Shane, Tiffany and Daniel Files, Paul Rayburn Keahey III, Jean-Ann and Kayla Dinkins, Sid Randall and Colton Bunn. Pallbearers will be Stanley Baker, John Kirby, Jay Pinchera, Paul Keahey, Terry Files and Daniell Files. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
