Morris Wayne Shrum

Graveside services for Morris Wayne Shrum, 85, of Gilmer will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Soules Chapel Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Norvell officiating. Mr. Shrum passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 in Gilmer. Mr. Shrum was born on May 3, 1927, Hopkins County, Texas to Marshall C. and Stella Morris Shrum. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Shrum was an armored car driver for Brinks Armored Transportation, cattleman and a chicken grower. He is survived by his sister, Frances Vallian of Plano; nieces and nephews, Martha Laird, Vicki Timte, Patricia Benitez, Jack Spencer and Stephen Way. Mr. Shrum was preceded in death by his wife Mary Shrum ; sisters, Delpha Spencer and Ruth Way. No formal visitation will be held.
