Molly Jane Loftis

Molly Jane Loftis, 70, of Gilmer, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, in Longview. Graveside services will take place 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Concord Cemetery.

Molly was born May 25, 1951 in Uvalde, Texas to the late Oscar Geddys Chisum and Theresa Avis Hans. She had worked as a Legal Assistant and more recently as a driver for Meals on Wheels in the Gilmer/Upshur County area. Molly enjoyed playing dominos, attending car shows, driving her convertible and spending time with family and friends having a cup of coffee. She was headstrong and independent; Molly told it like she felt and didn’t mix her words. She loved her fur grandbabies Nellie and Blitz. Molly will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; that will not soon be forgotten.

Molly is survived by her son Chad Alan Mewborn; daughter Monica Knight and husband Jason; two sisters Mary Porter and Virginia “Ginger” Anderson; two brothers Joseph “Butch” Chisum and Hans Rigsby Lewis; step siblings Mike Lewis and Dan Lewis; four grandchildren McKenzie Knight, Caleb Knight and wife Reagan, Shalee Knight and fiancé Payton Weatherby and Reagan Mewborn; two great grandchildren Sadie Knight and Sable Knight as well as many other loving family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents Oscar Geddys Chisum and Theresa Avis Hans Lewis; step-sister Patricia Lewis Rice and two brothers-in-law Les Porter and Lee Anderson.
