Mitchell Joseph Billingsley

Funeral services for Mitchell Joseph Billingsley, 83, of Longview will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Galen Harrington and Bro. Ben Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethlehem Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Born on January 3, 1931, in Tyler, Texas to Grandville H. and Ruby Jeanette Harris Billingsley, he passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 in Longview. Mr. Billingsley served in the U. S. Army and worked at Crown Cork and Seal. He was a member of the Judson Lions Club and the United Steel Workers Union. Mr. Billingsley was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church and was ordained a Deacon in 1957. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annie Billingsley of Longview, daughter, Pamela Billingsley Pyeatt and husband, Terry W. Pyeatt of Gilmer; brother, W. H. Bill Billingsley and wife, Mary Lou of Longview; sisters, Maxine Taylor of Brandon, Miss. Janice Adams of Tyler, Cynthia Richardson of Dallas; grandchildren, Sarah Pyeatt Davis and husband Cory, Travis Weston Pyeatt; one great grandchild, Sophia Grace Davis; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
