Mina Lily Poteet McCary

Graveside services for Mrs. Mina Lily Poteet McCary, 83, of Ore City will be held 2:00 P.M, Friday, December 20, 2013, at New Hope Cemetery in Mineola, Texas with Patrick McCary officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mrs. McCary passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2013 in Ore City. Mrs. McCary was born on March 14, 1930, in Dillard, Oklahoma to Claude Egbert and Lillie Mae Todd Poteet. She moved from Dallas in 1959 to Upshur County. Mrs. McCary was a self employed beautician for 32 years and a member of Church of Christ. She is survived by husband of 64 years, L. V. McCary, Sr. of Ore City; Sons, L. V. McCary, Jr and wife Jane of Kingsbury, Kenny McCary and wife Pam of New Diana; daughters, Wanna McCary of Sabine, Wanda Guinn and husband, Andrew, Myrna Blackmon and husband Jimmie of New Diana; brother, Kenneth Poteet of Red Oak; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. McCary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Floyd and R. C. Poteet and sister, Lavada Matthews.
