Millie passed after a long term illness from this world into our Heavenly Father’s arms Wednesday, December 1, 2021, shortly after 8am. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her children and son in law.
Millie was born at Gladewater Municipal Hospital in Gladewater, TX on February 13, 1954 to Arthur Lewis Allen and Mary Thelma Beckham-Allen. Millie resided in Gladewater, TX most of her life as well as attended Gladewater ISD. She married Joe Don Diviney of Big Sandy, TX February 15, 1969 in Wood County.
Millie was self-employed cleaning houses and worked as a cashier for various local stores, ending her career with Brookshire’s in White Oak, TX as the fuel manager / cashier in 2013. She enjoyed keeping a clean house, cooking great meals, and knitting afghans for friends, family, and those in need. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sweet and happy nature, and putting the care and needs of others before her own. She was always very welcoming with her big smile and warm hugs.
Millie is survived by her younger brother Robert Allen and wife Debbie of White Oak; three children, son Billy Diviney of White Oak, daughter Lisa Diviney-Simmons and husband Sean of Gladewater, son Wayne Diviney and wife Joy of Union Grove; grandchildren Amber, Allison, Justin, Gavyn, Shiyan, Josh, Randi, Lucas, Emma; great grandson Carson; and many nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband Joe Diviney; parents Arthur Lewis “Mutt” Allen and Mary Thelma Allen; brother Roy Louis Allen; and sister Louise Allen-White.
