Mildred Harrison

Mildred Harrison, age 99 of Ore City, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, in Galveston, Texas. Mildred a lifetime resident of Upshur County, was born on September 12, 1922, to the late James Wilburn and Nora Dell Trotter Ferguson. She married Duran Pete Harrison on February 9, 1951 and they were married for 57 years. Mrs. Harrison earned her Masters Degree in Elementary Education and retired from Ore City ISD after 27 years of teaching.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bert Bagley; sister, Margueritte Epps, grandchildren, Kristopher Bagley, Priscilla Bagley, Kara Bagley Burr, Michael Burr, great grandchildren Karoline, Kennedy and Harrison Burr, and Noelle Bagley along with wonderful nephews and nieces.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Duran Pete Harrison, her sister Mable Dean Tate, and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church of Ore City, with Rev. Stewart Kouba, Doug Smith, David Williamson and Bert Bagley officiating, interment to follow at Ore City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making donations to Ore City First United Methodist Church or Ore City Independent School District in mother’s name.
