Services for Mike Cavitt, 68, of Diana will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Coffeeville Cemetery in Ore City. He passed away March 8, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Mike was born May 2, 1947 in Gilmer, Texas to Woodrow Clifton and Bessie Mae Cavitt. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and later worked for Axelson/Halliburton where he retired. He was a member of Ore City Methodist Church. Mike survived by his loving wife of 33 years: Cynthia Cavitt of Diana, son: Ryan Cavitt of Diana, mother: Bessie Cavitt of Ore City, nephews and nieces: Todd and Tashia Turner of Diana, Chris and Dana Hayes of Shreveport, and Vicki and Mitch Landry of Shreveport, special relatives: Tom and Kem Allen of Ore City, John and Lana Allen of Diana, Brittanie Coppedge of Diana, and Whittney Turner of Diana, grand-nephews: Chance Buckner of Arlington and Trace Buckner of Ore City, special friend Philip Monts and numerous other relatives. Pallbearers include Ryan Cavitt, Todd Turner, Chris Hayes, James Haywood, Marcus Turner, John Allen, Tom Allen, Kevin Blassingame, and Larry Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Neal Montgomery, Philip Monts, Doyle Ellison and Kenneth Carroll. He was preceded in death by his father Woodrow Cavitt and special Army friend SP4 Arden D. Zhe.
