Michael Dwain Strutton

Graveside services for Mr. Michael Dwain Strutton, 74, of Hughes Springs are scheduled for 10AM, Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at O’Farrell Cemetery in Atlanta, Texas, with Mike Thomas officiating. A visitation is scheduled for 6PM-8PM, Monday, August 9,2021 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Arrangements under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. He passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in Longview.

Michael was born July 13, 1947 in Linden, Texas, to Hubert Alexander and Allie Marie (Gillespie) Strutton. He was in the Marines from 1966-1970 where he was deployed to Vietnam. He loved his military career and always hated getting out so soon. Mike worked at Lone Star Steel for 16 years where he was a foreman. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, and fishing. His happiest moments were spent with family. He enjoyed all of the football and baseball games he coached or watched his kids play. He also loved hanging out with his grandkids and great grandkids and telling stories and corny jokes.

Michael is survived by his two sons; Larry Strutton and wife Cynthia, Joe Strutton and wife Melissa, daughter, Judy Stewart, siblings; Glenn and Janice Strutton, Rhonda and Philip Cook, Melissa and Kevin Attaway, Felicia and Barrett Spencer, David and Crystal Strutton, grandkids, Cory Maxwell and wife Victoria, Joel Maxwell and wife Haley, Kyle Strutton, Sophie Strutton, Sarah Strutton, great grandkids: Riley, Brantley, Brooklyn, Braelynn, Emma and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
