Merlene Beard

Merlene Beard, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021 at home and went to be with her Lord.
Merlene was born July 17, 1940, in Pilot Point, Texas, to Frederick C. and Bertie E. Zeeb. She married the love of her life, Don Beard on June 14, 1958, in Pilot Point. Merlene worked as a bookkeeper and enjoyed serving as a Girl Scout leader, bowling, karaoke and spending time with her family having fun. She was preceded by a son, Don Beard, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Don Beard; children, Jeffrey Beard, Shellie Hughes and husband, Randall; grandchildren, Amy Beard, Ruben Gomez, Jr., Kiley Beard, Jeffrey Beard, Kyle Beard, Savannah Anderson, Sierra Vickers, Corey Vickery; and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Hopewell Cemetery.
