Melvin T. Wilkinson

Memorial services for Mr. Melvin T. Wilkinson, 76, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Sand Hill Church of Christ with David Cotham officiating. Mr. Wilkinson passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Tyler. He was born December 3, 1934, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Earnest Elmer and Bessie Louella Reynolds Wilkinson. On October 11, 1955 he married Nancy Wood. Mr. Wilkinson served in the U. S. Airforce, was a self employed general contractor and a member of the Sand Hill Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wilkinson of Gilmer; sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Kila, Ricky and Dee Dee, David and Robert; daughters and sons-in-laws, Delores and Kenny Knight, Nikki and Kenny Stewart; brothers, Earnie Wilkinson and Hubert Wilkinson; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Billy Mayberry; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Wilkinson, brothers, Carl, Elmer and Ray Wilkinson and one great grandchild. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
