Melinda Joy Stanley

Melinda Joy Stanley of Diana, Texas passed away peacefully at home August 31, 2022.

Melinda was born September 17, 1956, in Gilmer, Texas to Gordon and Margie Carter. Melinda worked many years at the Diana Post Office. In earlier years she enjoyed bowling on a women’s league each week. She loved puzzles and word games and was an avid reader. More recently, her grandchildren became the sunshine of her life and she cherished the time she spent being their “Melly”. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.

Melinda is survived by her son, Matt Stanley; daughter, Jenna O’Sicky and husband Stephen; granddaughter, Sage; grandson, Jude; a brother, Russ Carter and wife, Debra; mother-in-law, Weda Barnett and her treasured aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Gordon and Margie Carter; a sister-in-law, Dana Rojo and her beloved husband, Danny.

Services will be held 10AM Friday, September 2, 2022, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana, Texas.

Donations may be made to Mattox Cemetery in Diana.
