Megan Nicole Perez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Megan Nicole Perez, a bright light in our lives, who passed away on March 5, 2024. Megan was born on September 10, 2004 and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication.

From a young age, Megan stood out for her intelligence and leadership skills. She had a zest for life that was infectious, and her adventurous spirit led her to explore the world around her with enthusiasm. Whether she was on the field playing sports or working hard in pursuit of her dreams, Megan always gave her all.

Megan's caring nature endeared her to everyone she met, and she had a natural ability to make lasting connections. Her friends and family will always remember her as a compassionate and loyal friend who was always there to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.

After graduating from Gladewater High School in the Class of 2023, Megan set her sights on becoming a nurse, a goal that she pursued with determination and passion. Though her time with us was cut short, Megan's spirit will continue to inspire us all to work hard and chase our dreams.

Megan is survived by her father, Joe Perez and step-mom, Samantha Perez; mother, Brandy Recht and step-father, Michael Recht; siblings, Lucas Cherry, Evan Perez, Lane Cherry, Morgan Perez, Mackenzie Perez, Krystal Zwolinski, Michael Zwolinski, Addison Recht and Mason Recht; as well as her grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins and many other loving family and friends. 

In tribute to Megan's remarkable life, a memorial service to celebrate her memory will be held at First Baptist Church in Gladewater, Texas on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Friends and loved ones are invited to join us as we come together to honor and remember Megan's wonderful life.

Though we will miss her deeply, Megan's legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Megan.
