Maybelle “Mimi” Caughron

Heaven gained another angel when Maybelle “Mimi” Caughron, 98, of Big Sandy, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 in Longview. Maybelle was a member of Sit’em Down Cowboy Church in Big Sandy and a former member of the Pilot Club of Longview.

Born March 28, 1920 to Zula Caldwell, Maybelle was the baby in her family of one brother, Nolan Caldwell, and two sisters, Lucille Martin and Sybil Brown. She now joins them and her late husband, J.D. “Jimmy” Caughron, in their Heavenly home.

Maybelle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Debra Caughron; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Baggett, all of Big Sandy; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Chris and Kelly Baggett of Lindale; granddaughter Wendy Caughron of Georgetown; great grandsons Zach and Seth Baggett of Lindale and Tristen Garza of Georgetown; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her good friend, Martha Close of Big Sandy.

Step-granddaughters and their families are Ramona Halford, husband Lance, and children Austin Halford and Jeron Brewer, all of Southside, AR. Teresa Gordon and husband Ricky Gordon of Batesville, AR, and their children: Mary, husband Tristen Terpening, and daughter, Tessa of Cave City, AR; Madison Jeffrey, Annie Agee, Kolten Bradley, Ava Bradley, Ricki Gordon, and Alexys Gordon of Batesville, AR; and Kelsey Jeffrey of Southside, AR.

Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater and will be held in their Chapel. Visitation is from 2-3pm on Sunday, February 24th and a Celebration of Life will follow at 3pm. Burial will be at Gladewater Cemetery on Hwy 80 West of Gladewater. Pastor Chad Lee of Sit’em Down Cowboy Church will conduct the service. Pallbearers are Chris Baggett, Zach Baggett, Seth Baggett, Terry Triebenbach, Jordan Baker, Jastin Baker, and William Beason.
