Maxine Ferguson Walters DIANA �Services for Maxine Ferguson Walters, 97, of the Ore City and Diana area will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church in Ore City, with Brother Tony Pierce officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. She passed away April 2, 2012 in Longview. Maxine was born December 28, 1914 in James, Texas to Less and Annie White Ferguson. She grew up in Ore City, Texas until her marriage to John Loonie Walters. John L Walters was a pastor at Forrest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore, East Sabine Baptist Church in Liberty City, First Baptist of Simms, Texas, and Southside Baptist Church in Henderson. Maxine was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Ore City. Maxine and Loonie had nine children together. She is survived by her son: John Walters and wife Sarah of Diana, daughter: Nelda Perry and husband Chuck of Diana, son: Joe Walters and wife Floye of Longview, son: Mike Walters and wife Connie of Longview, sister: Melba Ferguson Booth and husband Ken of Diana, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who all loved her very much. Mother was a woman of Proverbs 31 and a wonderful example to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John Loonie Walters, 5 of her children, and her parents Less and Annie Ferguson. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 6 to 8 P.M. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.Box 417, Ore City, Texas 75683.
