Matthew Leon Bishop

Funeral services for Matthew Leon Bishop, 38, of Pittsburg will be held 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 9, 2014, at First Assembly of God Church in Gilmer with Reverends David Sanders and David Everett officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Oak Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Bishop passed away on Thursday June 5, 2014, in Pittsburg. He was born in Tyler on March 12, 1976, to Grover Thomas Bishop, Jr. and Pamela Jean Callarman Bishop. Matthew was a supervisor for Cretic Energy and attended First Assembly of God Church. On November 16, 2011, he married Wendi Michele Stevenson and she survives him. He is also survived by his parents, Grover and Pam Bishop; grandparents, Wayne and Ruth Callarman sons, Trent Bishop, Trevor Bishop, Ryker Bishop; stepson, Preston Nichols; stepdaughter, Peyton Barrett; sisters, Jessica Renee Hubbard, Lisa Michelle Leblanc; nephew, Matthew Brian Leblanc; neice, Olivia Grace Hubbard; aunts, Pamelia Bryant, Deborah Harrison and numerous other relatives. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grover T. Bishop Sr. and Christell Presnell Bishop Pallbearers for his service will be David Yochum, Larry Hector, Aaron Young, Tim Amos, Raul Sanchez and James Corbitt. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday June 8, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home.
