Mata Mary McKinney

Services for Mata Mary McKinney, 91, of Tyler will be held 2:00 P.M, Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Holly Tree Chapel at Holly Lake Ranch, Texas with Bro. Charles Reece officiating. Burial will follow at Grice Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. McKinney passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in Corsicana. Mrs. McKinney was born on July 5, 1919, in Upshur County, Texas to Roger and Annie Elder Schrum. She graduated from East Texas State Teachers College and was a teacher at Harmony ISD until her retirement. Mrs. McKinney was a longtime member of the Methodist Women"s fellowship before becoming a member of the Holly Tree Chapel. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Barbara McKinney of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Larry Stevener of Corsicana; grandchildren, Amy Cope, Jessica Puckett, Scott Stevener, Robert Stevener, Andrew McKinney and Ryan McKinney; 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wertz McKinney on May 7, 2005. Pallbearers are Scott Stevener, Robert Stevener, Andrew McKinney, Ryan McKinney, Michael Puckett and Rodger Cope. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. until the service time.
