Mary McDonald

Services for Mary (Faulk) McDonald, 78, of Gilmer will be Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with brother Virgil Faires officiating. Interment will follow at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy, Texas. Mrs. McDonald passed away Monday at her residence surrounded by her family. Born July 31, 1932, she grew up among a close knit extended family and graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1950. That same year, she and Brewster Preston McDonald were married in Upshur County where they enjoyed living and raising a family together for sixty years. Mary was a member of the Gilmer church of Christ, where she attended regularly and enjoyed teaching children"s Bible class and serving in many other ways. In addition to being a homemaker, Mary worked many years as a secretary for the Highway Department in Gilmer. She is survived by her husband, Brewster McDonald of Gilmer; a daughter, Sherri and her husband Jackie Seale of Pittsburg; two sons, Mike and his wife, Tommy of San Antonio, Randy and his wife, Patti of Nacogdoches and six grandchildren, Brandi Wilkerson and her husband, Aaron, Jody Seale, Jordan McDonald, Ashli McDonald, Chandler McDonald and William McDonald. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
