A celebration of life for Mary Louise Mitchell Thomas, 75, of White Oak, will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 10 A.M. at the Center Street Church of Christ in White Oak with Dale Thomas officiating. Born on August 10, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Milton and Eda Rose Snell Mitchell, she died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Her unconditional love for her family, friends, and church, was an inspiration to all. Mary"s Godly spirit touched many lives and left a legacy for which her children are grateful and proud. Whether she was called Mary, Mom, Sissie, Granny, or GeeGee, she was loved by all. She was a diligent worker and earned many awards during her time at the Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant in Karnack. She, in addition, served as a service representative at the Social Security Office for twenty-five years. Mary enjoyed visiting with family and friends, watching baseball games, working jigsaw puzzles, and sewing. Her love of sewing left her family many beautiful quilts to cherish forever. She was a devoted and cheering fan at many of her grandchildren"s baseball and soccer games. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dion and Teresa Thomas of White Oak; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Scotty Wiley of Longview; 4 grandchildren, Cristin Harris, Samantha Thomas, and Justin Thomas all of White Oak; and Parker Wiley of Longview; 2 great-grandchildren, Rebekah and Hayden Harris of White Oak; 3 sisters, Ouida Ann McMullen and Nancy Richart, both of Shreveport; Barbara Jane Hawkins of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. If so desired, memorials may be made to Hearts Way Hospice, P.O. Box 5608, Longview, Texas 75608 or Center Street Church of Christ, 710 E. Center Street, White Oak, Texas 75693. The family will receive friends at her son"s home in White Oak on Friday, September 28, 2012, from 6 to 8 P.M.
