Mary Lee Smith Whitlock

Funeral services for Mary Lee Smith Whitlock, 75, of Gladewater, will be 3:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Gladewater. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 until service time. Mrs. Whitlock passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019, in Longview.

Mary was born April 18, 1944 in Goree, Texas to the late Lonzy Estoll Smith and Lottie B. Gray Smith. She met and married Donald Wayne Whitlock in Crowell, Texas in 1964; they moved to Gladewater in the late 60’s. Mary worked at J.C. Penny’s in Gladewater and at Yesterday’s Treasures. She loved antique shopping and she and Don went all over the country antiquing. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was not one to sit around and was always on the go. She will be dearly missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind.

Mary is survived by her husband Don Whitlock; three children Allan Whitlock and wife Pong Ae of Longview, Ronnie Whitlock and wife Tonya of Carthage and Michelle Horn and husband Kelvin of Gilmer; sister Darlene Wheeler and husband Joe of Crowell; brother-in-law Ronnie Goodwin of Irving; sisters-in-law Sylvia Whitlock of East Mountain and Grace McLain; nine grandchildren Lisa, Andy, Chani. Kevin, Jeremy, Jessica, Mikayla, Kell and Cole; six great grandchildren Joshua, Daisy, Elliott, Molly, Eric and Kaylei as well as a host of niece, nephews and other loving family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lonzy and Lottie (Gray) Smith; sisters Geneva Goodwin, Bobbie Foster and Doris Smith; brothers L.E. Smith, Tommy Smith and James Smith and a grandson James Horn.
