Mary Heloise Lay

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Heloise Lay, 87, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Colonial Gardens in Marshall, Texas with Bro. Wallace Watkins under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mrs. Lay passed away in Gilmer on November, 6, 2013 in Gilmer. Born on May 1, 1926, in Gilmer to Henry C. and Lizzie Farmer Nugent, she married Thomas M. Lay on June 16, 1944 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Lay was a self employed beauty operator for 24 years and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by brother, Doyle Nugent of Pittsburg; sister, Sue Waller of Gilmer; sister-in-law, Bobbie Nugent of Gilmer; special nephew, Terry Lay of Marshall; host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lay was also preceded in death by her brother, Bain Nugent; sisters, Ronnie Clement and Evelyn Wills. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
