Mary Arlene Thompson

Graveside services for Mary Arlene Thompson, 80, of Plano (formerly of Gilmer), will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2014 at Grice Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro. Pete Dugger officiating. Interment will be in the Grice Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. She passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born August 7, 1934 in Gilmer to T.J. and Bruce Elizabeth Cates Davidson. She was a retired Loan Officer with the Santa Fe Railroad, had lived in Gilmer for 18 years and was a member of the Urban Park Baptist Church in Dallas. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Corinne Thompson of Scurry and Anthony Thompson of Garland; daughter, Pansy Sutton of Plano; brother, Leon Davidson of Burleson; sister, Elizabeth Wortham of Mineola; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nevon Davidson and Larry J. Davidson; and sister, Fayrene Gray. No formal visitation is scheduled.
