Funeral services for Martha Nell Young, 78, of Big Sandy will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Hawkins with Bro Norman Bedford officiating. Interment will be in the Hawkins Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mrs. Young passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at a Tyler Hospital. Mrs. Young was born September 15, 1935 in Carrollton, Georgia to Preston and Alice Morris Akin. She was a homemaker, had lived in Hawkins for 12 years before moving to Big Sandy and was a member of the Stagner New Life Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Henry Willis Young, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Connie Young, Jr. of Jonesboro, Georgia, Chambliss Preston "Pat" and Tricia Young of Temple, Georgia and John Carl Young of North Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Jeff Little of Hawkins and Sarah and Dan McCall of Easley, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren including Noel Elizabeth Young; numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and daughters, Alice Joleen Young and Dee Dee Dorane Rowland. Pallbearers will be John Young, Pat Young, John Reeves, Hal Conover, Todd Hollis and Jeff Little. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Hawkins.
