Marilyn Diane Caton

Graveside services for Marilyn Diane Caton, age 68, of Gladewater, will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Friendship Cemetery in Gladewater with Pastor M.D. McGuire officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mrs. Caton passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019, in Gladewater.

Marilyn was born in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Marvin Lee Gilmore and Ellen Johnston Gilmore. She was a 1970 graduate of H. Grady Smith High School. On August 10, 1970 she married the love her life Paul Wayne Caton, whom she shared 32 years with. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a kind hearted and loving lady that could put a smile on anyone’s face. Marilyn known as “Granny” will be dearly missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind.

Marilyn is survived by her two daughters Christi Caton and husband Felipe Loredo and Paula Vasquez and husband Francisco; son Kyle Caton and wife Summer; five grandchildren Cory Caton, Jaqueline Barronette, Alex Vasquez, Marissa Vasquez and Garrick Caton; two sisters Evelyn Gilmore Waugh and Sandy Renee Gilmore; three brothers Steve Gilmore, Larry Gilmore and Jim (Bo) Gilmore as well as many other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by husband Paul Wayne Caton; parents Marvin Lee Gilmore and Ellen Johnston; sister Lois Gilmore Michelli and brother Ronnie Gilmore.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Francisco Vasquez, Felipe Loredo, Cory Caton, Brian Barronette, Austin Blanco and Alex Vasquez.
