Marie Carter

Marie Carter passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Gilmer, Texas. She was born on July 24, 1936 in Mexia, Texas to John Clay and Eula Irene (Smith) Dabney. She was a dedicated seamstress who worked at Honey Toggs for many years, skillfully crafting clothing and garments that brought joy to many.

Marie held her membership at the Hawkins Cowboy Church dear to her heart, finding a strong sense of community and support among her fellow members.

Those left to cherish her memories are her 3 sons, Jerry Carter, Michael Carter and Randy Carter; brother, Ray Edward Dabney; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on January 24, 2025, at Union Grove Cemetery. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.
