Marguerite Adams

Graveside service for Ms. Marguerite Adams, 94, of Gilmer will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 08, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Park with Bro. Mike Cook officiating. Ms. Adams passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at her residence in Gilmer. She was born August 15, 1927 in Gilmer, Texas to Gordy L. and Grace Humprys Grider. She attended the First Baptist Church in Gilmer where she served the Lord for many years and she worked as a teller for the First National Bank in Gilmer for 34 years.
Ms. Adams is survived by special friend Tammie Prater, whom she considered a daughter, and her husband Benny; grandchildren, Summer McDorman and husband Gaston, Brook Arrington, and Laney and Lennon Arrington; special family and friends, Della and Jones Lewis, Monte and BJ Wade. Scott and Amber Lewis and daughter Audry Lewis, Kristi and Jason Hunt and children Jack and Lauren, Belinda Parrott, Ginger and Rod, Reese and Kate, Karen Nobles, Jeff and Shelley, Janet and Rick Johnson, Becky Beck.
Even though she had no children of her own, she was a loving mother and Grammy to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband James “Roland” Adams; her parents; and grandson, Wesley Arrington.
