Margaret Lou Bailey Harrison Gladewater -- Services for Margaret Lou Bailey Harrison, 87, of Plano, formerly of Gladewater, will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2011, at 11 A.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Welton Jones and Larry W. Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Gladewater Memorial Park with Reverend Dick Dobbins officiating. Born in Garza County, Texas, on July 8, 1924, to Vivian and Claude H. Bailey, she graduated from Post High School in May, 1941. Margaret was a "Rosie the Riveter" working at an aircraft factory in California during World War II. After the war, Margaret returned home and married her high school sweetheart, Guy T. Harrison, on July 13, 1946. She graduated from West Texas State University with a teacher"s certificate. She taught in Gladewater and Irving. She was a gifted artist and talented teacher for 27 years. An active member of Gladewater"s First United Methodist Church, she was a charter member of the Creative Christians and a member of the 20th Century Sunday School Class. She is survived by her son, Dr. Guy T. Harrison, Jr. and wife Esther of Shelbyville; daughter, Paula Harris and husband Jack of Athens; four grandchildren, Kim Dumaine Banuelos and husband Carlos of Allen; Misty Fincher and husband Joe of Katy; Angie Jones of Dallas; and Jonathan Harris of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Stephen Daniel Dumaine, Hayley McKinney, Lilian Margaret Jones, Alexis Danielle Banuelos, and Daniela Nicole Banuelos. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 65 years, Dr. Guy T. Harrison, Sr. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until service time.
