Maggie Lee McCurry Williams

Maggie Lee McCurry Williams, 86, of Hawkins passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024.  She was born on May 19, 1938 in Upshur County to the late Dewey McCurry, Sr. and Loretta (Clutch) McCurry.  In December of 1975 Maggie married George "Buzz" Henry Williams, who preceded her in death in May of 1998.

Maggie worked as a Nurse's Aid and had previously driven a school bus for Gilmer School District. She was always up for getting out and about with her sister Ina and her little dog Angel.

Maggie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Clowers; sister, Ina Robertson; many nieces and nephews and extended family members; her special friend and partner of over 20 years, Sonny Gomez and her beloved dog, Angel. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, George "Buzz" Williams; parents, Dewey McCurry, Sr. and Loretta McCurry; brothers Earl Spence and Dewey McCurry, Jr.; sisters, Betty Arrington and Sally Ann Holiday.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel starting at 1:30 pm, the funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm.  Maggie will be laid to rest in the Concord Cemetery, Upshur County, Texas.
