Graveside services for Lucille Pope, 84, of Lufkin, formerly of White Oak will be Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the New White Oak Cemetery in White Oak under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home prior to services. Mrs. Pope passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019, in Lufkin.
Lucille was born November 25, 1934 in Tyler, Texas to the late Frank Edgar Eggleston and Melba Rose Smith Eggleston. She attended White Oak Schools and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Lucille was a “Free Spirit” living life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling whenever possible. She loved her grandchildren and took any opportunity to spend time with them that she could. Lucille wrote poetry and took great pride in her writings. Mrs. Pope will not soon be forgotten by all the loving family and many friends she leaves behind.
Lucille is survived by her three children Teresa (Terry ) Murray, Carla Campbell and Claude (Tiger) Lane and wife Pam; seven grandchildren Justin Murray and wife Tasha, Daniel Murray and wife Macie, Mason Murray and wife Christie, J.D. Campbell and wife Elizabeth, Cindy O’Brien and husband Shane, Zach Campbell and wife Sarah and Jenni Campbell; fifteen great grandchildren Natalie, Luke, Preston, Marlie, Mavis, Jacklyn, Kallye, J.R., Pierce, Sterling, Bridgette, Jaxon, Jameson and Zoe; two step grandsons Kaiden and Ashton; two great grandchildren Veda and Easton; her sister Patsy Thomas; her brother Frank Eggleston, Jr. as well as many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Ann Tuel and brother Eddie Eggleston
