Mrs. Lou Ellen Ross, age 91, of Hawkins, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at her home. Lou Ellen was born on June 4, 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Russell A. and Anna Lou (Miller) Kerr. Her high school days were spent playing the trumpet for North Side marching band, as well as for the Fort Worth PhilHarmonic Orchestra, and the TCU marching band. She went on to receive a full academic scholarship but turned it down when given the opportunity to work for WBAP television as a personal secretary. She was a homemaker, and member of the Holly Brook Baptist Church in Holly Lake Ranch. She was formerly an art teacher, girl scout troop leader, water aerobics instructor at Jarvis College, and volunteered with Helping Hands. She enjoyed anything artistic, especially oil painting, and was an avid reader.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Mr. Virgil Walter Ross; and son, Lance Ross.
She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Melissa M. Ross of Hawkins; granddaughter, Shyann Ross; and her two cherished cats.
Inurnment at Holly Tree Chapel Cemetery in Holly Lake Ranch.
