Lonnie Shirley

Lonnie Shirley, Jr., affectionately known as “Peewee” of Jefferson passed away on December 11, 2024, in Longview, Texas. Lonnie was born on January 16, 1944, in Longview, Texas to Lonnie Warren, Sr. and Ina Mae (Roach) Shirley.

Lonnie loved hunting deer in South Texas, and fishing at Lake O’ the Pines. He was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need. Lonnie was a jack of all trades and spent his life working in the electrical and mechanical field.

He is survived by his twin brother, Ronnie Shirley and numerous relatives and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service to honor Lonnie's memory will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Gilmer City Cemetery. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend the service, which will begin at 1:00 PM with Bro. Marion Coon officiating.
