Funeral services for Mrs. Lilly J. Tuel, 83, of Gilmer will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Enon Baptist Church with Reverend Ray Thompson and Reverend Wayne Norvell officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Lilly J. Tuel was born January 22, 1930, in Swan, Texas the fourth of six children to Elbert C. and Bernice Riley Jones and she died October 14, 2013, in the comfort of her own home. On June 10, 1950, she married Billy Tuel in Gilmer and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2001. Mrs. Tuel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Milton Wylie of Gilmer; grandson Matthew Wylie and wife, Roza and great grandson, Atticus of Toronto, Canada; granddaughter Meredith Woodchek and husband, Mike of Dallas; brother, Donald Jones and wife Glenda of Gilmer; sisters-in-law, Doris and Gwen Tuel and Dean Jones Nolan; numerous nieces and nephews. Lily was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Enon Community Center and past secretary of the Enon Cemetery Board. She loved playing cards with her friends at Enon Community Center every month. Mrs. Tuel loved her church family and especially her years of working with the children. Her sweet smile and loving disposition will be remembered by all. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Wylie, Atticus Wylie, Mike Woodchek and her nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Faith Hospice, 4362 Hwy 259 N. Suite B, Longview, Texas 75605. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home.
