Lillie Mae McClusky, 84, of Big Sandy, Texas passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Lillie was born on March 7, 1938, to parents Willie Peek and Phenie Jane (Finch) Traxler in Ames, Liberty County, Texas. She graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1956 where she was a drummer in the high school band. It was there that she met her husband of almost 66 years, William E. McClusky whom she married February 1, 1957.
In addition to being a loving, devoted wife and mother, Lillie also had a successful career as a Radiology Technician at UT Tyler Health Center from where she retired in 2000.
Lillie is preceded in death by her two brothers Lloyd and W.A Traxler, and her sister Audrey Blake.
Lillie is survived by her husband William (Bill) McClusky, her daughter and son-in-law Debra and Johnny Johnson, her daughter Cheryl Duty, as well as her grandchildren: Jamie McBride and husband Jeremy, Rebecca Vice and husband Ryan, Cory Johnson, and Megan LeCompte and husband J.P. Lillie was blessed with seven great grandchildren: Payton, Emily, Cameron, Gabriel, Alexandra, Henry, and Denton. She is also survived by her brother Lonnie Traxler and wife Pat, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lillie was a passionate fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She frequently attended their sporting events, dance recitals and school functions. She was an excellent baker, enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and was a devoted member of her church, Crossroads Baptist in Big Sandy, Texas.
