Lewis Caudill, Sr.

Services for Lewis Caudill, Sr., 88, of Big Sandy, will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at 2 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater with Pastor Sonny Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Born on November 8, 1925, in Letcher County, Kentucky, he died on Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was a retired mason/carpenter for Ambassador University. He was an active deacon in the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Big Sandy and most dedicated to God and family. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Caudill, Jr. and Celia of Dallas; daughters, Maggie Blood of Big Sandy; and Brenda Williamson of Hillsboro, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Georgia Caudill of Longview; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Audrey Caudill of Cincinnati, Ohio; Nelson Riley and Eljene Caudill of Lancaster, Kentucky; 2 sisters, Arzella Cope of Marion, Indiana; Lina Mae Gutenson, Cincinnati, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Ruth Caudill of Stanford, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Maggie Caudill; son, Ruben Benjamen Caudill; wife, Minnie Caudill; granddaughter, Sherry Ann Blood; and several brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
