Services for Lester E. Wood, 93, of Winona, will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, at 2 P.M. at the Gladewater First Baptist Church with Reverend Bailey Harris officiating and Tom Perryman speaking. Burial will be in Starrville Cemetery. Born on August 26, 1920, in Smith County, Texas, to David T. and Ethel Wood, he died on Thursday, October 24, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during World War II. He was former owner of Lester"s Office Supplies in Longview. He was an active member of the Gladewater First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Ann Wood of Winona, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Sheila Wood of Gladewater, one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Harden of League City; 3 grandchildren, Colt Wood and wife Kristen of Gladewater; Jim Harden, Jr. and wife Misty of League City; John Harden and wife Alison of Plano; 7 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; three brothers; and one special friend, Dr. Walter Henry. Pallbearers will be Jim Harden, Jr., John Harden, Colt Wood, Jamie Wedgeworth, Keith Wedgeworth, and Cody Lane. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
