Leonard Franklin Laferney

Memorial services for Mr. Leonard Franklin LaFerney, 78, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 30, 2019 at Croley Funeral Home with Bro. Othel Laferney officiating, interment will follow at Soules Chapel Cemetery with Bro. J.N. Metcalf officiating.

Mr. Laferney was born on December 24, 1940, to Luther and Ethell Viola Nowlin Laferney in Monticello, Arkansas. He passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Gilmer. Mr. Laferney served in the U. S. Navy. He was married to Patricia Anne Lisenby on March 3, 2003, at Glenwood Baptist Church. Mr. Laferney was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a retired musician.
Mr. Laferney is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne (Lisenby) Laferney; son, Willy Laferney of Corinth, Mississippi; son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Susan Laferney of Liberty City, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Benny Cole of Cherokee Lake, Tracey and Patrick Myers of White Oak; stepsons, Patrick Keith of Gilmer, Leslie Keith of Minnesota; brother, Reverend Othell Laferney; sister, Connie Sloan; grandchildren, Hayden and Christopher Myers, Aston, Dalton, Noah and Lincoln Laferney and great grandchild, Sadie Kay Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Garrett Stone, stepdaughter, Patricia Keith and five sisters.
