Services for Leona Stewart Maddox, 99, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M, Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Mike Maddox officiating. Burial will follow at Glade Creek Cemetery in Upshur County. She passed away on September 19, 2012 in Gilmer. Leona was born on July 27, 1913, in Upshur County, Texas to Kay Lonzo Stewart and Mattie Issabelle Pilgrim Stewart. She married H. Curtis Maddox on September 16, 1933 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Maddox was a homemaker and a member of the Glade Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws, Billy and Pat Maddox of Gilmer; Mike and Traci Maddox of Gilmer; daughters and sons-in-law; Marcelene Clemens of Gilmer, Joyce and Dr. Eugene Foster of Gilmer; Jane and Steve Ragan of Eustace; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Elizabeth Stewart of Gilmer; 10 grandchildren, Dennis Youngblood, Julie Bowman, Donna Varnado, David Youngblood and wife, Cindy, Jay Youngblood and wife, Lisa, Jared Maddox and wife, Trish, Jeri Lynn Williams, Jimi Murray and husband, Troy, Keli Sinclair and husband, Thomas, Maci Maddox; 19 great gandchildren, Amber Hendrix, John Youngblood, Dana Youngblood, Stormi Bowman, Laci Bowman, Casey Varnado, Adam Varnado, Josh Youngblood, Holly Youngblood, Spencer Youngblood, Skylar Youngblood, Jessica Maddox, Raigan Maddox, Ashlyn Williams, Wesley Williams, Kade Murray, Brettlee Murray, Sidney Sinclair and Shelby Sinclair. Three great great granchildren, Bailey Hendrix, Riley Hendrix and Nattie Beserra. She was also preceded in death by her son, Oland Maddox. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
