Leon Jones

Graveside services for Leon Jones, 95, of White Oak will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Old White Oak Cemetery in White Oak with Mr. Leonard Jones officiating. Interment will follow the services. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00- 7:00 p.m. Mr. Jones passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in Longview.

Mr. Jones was born April 15, 1923 in San Angelo, Texas to the late John Henry Jones and Minnie Pope Jones. Mr. Jones served in the United States Army during WWII. After his service to his country Leon worked as a short order cook. He would go on to work as route salesman for a uniform distributor and would later work in the maintenance department for the White Oak ISD. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. Leon will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be truly missed by all the family and friends he leaves behind.

Leon is survived by his wife Phyllis Jones; son Leonard Jones and wife Kathy; daughter Dianne Williams and husband Brian; two grandchildren Lee Jones and Brianne Froumis; two great grandchildren Eline Froumis and Gabryelle Jones; a niece Brenda Deagnon and husband Rick as well as many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Minnie Jones; three brothers Alton Jones, Orbon Jones and Clifton Jones; and a sister Gladys Fletcher who helped raise Leon after the passing of his mother.
