Lawrence Derrill Bryant, Sr.

Services for Lawrence Derrill Bryant, Sr., 85, of Longview will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilmer Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Josh Ritter conducting. Burial will follow services at Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Bryant passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 in Longview surrounded by family.

Mr. Bryant was born August 9, 1931 in Upshur County to the late Carl Bryant and Julia Hamberlin Bryant. He was a retired electrician. Mr. Bryant served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife Genevieve Bryant of Longview; son Lawrence Bryant, Jr. and wife Christy of Trophy Club; six daughters, Nan Nordyke and husband Dutch of Stanley, North Dakota, Mary Barnett and husband Don of Tyler, Beverly Barrow and husband David of Longview, Barbara Williams and husband Randy of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Julie Ounais and husband Maher of Manama, Bahrain and Kimberly Dodd and husband Joe of Gilmer; two brothers, Phillip Bryant and wife Jan of Kelsey and Carl Allen Bryant and wife Seena of Springfield, Illinois; 33 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren as well as many other loving family and friends.

Mr. Bryant is preceded in death by his daughter Ann Stegall; son-in-law Kenny Stegall; three brothers, Wendell Bryant, Nolan Bryant and Maston Bryant; son-in-law Joe Andrews and great granddaughter Robin Ellis.

Pallbearers will be Ken Stegall, Ronnie Stegall, Brian Barrow, Jason Barrow, Bradley Barrow, Greg Andrews, James Tefteller and Lawrence Tefteller.

Honorary Pallbearers will be William Dodd, Parker Dodd, Jackson Dodd, Peyton Dodd, Michael Bryant, Mazen Ounais, Mahmood Ounais and Charles Barnett.
