Lawanda June Prater

Funeral services for Mrs. Lawanda June Prater, 76, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M, Friday, May 8, 2015, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Blake Lander officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Prater passed away in Gilmer on Monday, May 4, 2015. Lawanda June was born on June 23, 1938, in Starrville, Texas to Hubert Jones Browning and Etta Mae Allen Browning. She married Gardis Prater on January 25, 1992 and was the Business manager for Rockwell International. Mrs Prater was a member of Gilmer First Baptist Church. She loved fishing and reading. She is survived by her husband, Gardis Prater of Gilmer; sons, Kevin Wright, Darrin Wright both of Anaheim, CA., Buddy Wright and wife, Ruth of Union Grove, Texas, Gardy Prater and wife, America of Oak Hurst, CA.; daughter, Tammy Lejevne and husband, Ken of Lake Arrowhead, CA; brother, Charles Browning and wife, JoAnn of Tyler, sisters, Jerri Bradstreet and husband, Neil of Rogers, ARK, Susan Farmer and husband Raymond of Chandler, TX; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and six sisters. Pallbearers for the service will be Kevin Wright, Darrin Wright, Buddy Wright, Gardy Prater, Chris Wright and Jason Hawkins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
