Laura Powers Severn

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Laura Jean Severn, 72, of Gladewater, Texas, on January 11, 2025. Laura was born on March 15, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the oldest of four children to the late Clarence Joseph Powers and Ruth Jean Taylor. She moved to Gladewater in 1966 and graduated from Gladewater High School in 1970.

Laura was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness and beautiful smile. Laura found joy in the small things of life and was a devoted animal lover with a special love for her pets. She was a free-spirited soul who lived a simple life, loved nature, and was a passionate Beatles fan.

Laura is survived by her husband, Billy Dean Severn; her four children, Will Bennett (Maggie), Corrie B. Harlan (Darren), Noah Bennett (Maria), and Heidi Espinoza (Jonathan), who were all born from her 1972 union with her first husband Ronald Edward Bennett; her grandchildren, Isabelle Harlan, Hazel Espinoza, Julian Beltre, and Luna Rose Bennett; her brothers, Joseph M. Powers (Gayle), Rodney A. Powers (Sandy), and George S. Powers (Mary); eight nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
