Laura Mae Morris

Laura Mae (Poole) Morris, a beloved member of our community, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on July 30, 1926, in Upshur County, Texas to George Wester and Minnie (Pool) Poole.

Laura dedicated her working life to serving others as a Sales Clerk for Perry's, where her warm personality and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who met her. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her faith; she was a proud member of the Baptist Church, which played a significant role in her life and community involvement.

Laura is survived by her cousin, Retha Hurse and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Morris; and son, David Morris.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Gilmer beginning at 2:00 PM with Jason Pope officiating.
