Larry W. Johnson

Celebration of Life services for Larry Johnson, 74, of Winnsboro will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Tyler.

Mr. Johnson was born November 7, 1942 in Houston to the late William and Ophelia Scroggins Johnson. He served in the United States Army in the Paratrooper Division. Mr. Johnson worked as a mechanic in the Offshore Oil Industry as well as for Eastman for 16 years. Larry enjoyed working on old cars especially hotrods. He lived for racing and was a Drag Racing Technician. Larry will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

He is survived by his daughter Shanon Moon and husband Link of White Oak; sister Jean Lornson and husband Gary of Honey Grove; brother Joe Mack Johnson and wife Robin of Kingston, Tennessee; three grandchildren Dustin Baley and wife Amanda, Taylor Watson and husband Caleb and Weston Moon; great granddaughter Kirklynn Watson as well as many other loving family and friends.

Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Johnson.
