Lana Sue Russell

Funeral services for Lana Sue Russell, 65, of Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Liberty Baptist Church in Wood County with Bro. Trey Lanier officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Wood County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mrs. Russell passed way Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Russell was born on April 11, 1948, in Winchester, VA to John Thomas and June Lorraine Main Kline. She was retired Office Manager Family Medical, homemaker and member of the Redemption Song Quartet. Mrs. Russell was also a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and was mission chairwoman for Hope Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoyed making dolls for the overseas children orphanages. Mrs. Russell is survived by her husband, Samuel Lewis Russell, Jr. of Hawkins; son, Butch Fixx of Virginia; adopted daughter, Cara D. Tye of Hawkins; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Lee and Van Slaymaker of North Carolina and Laura Ann Nelms of Florida; adopted grandchildren, J.C. Tye, IV and Lauren Tye; niece and husband, Ronna and Mark Moore of Hawkins; great-nephew, Shawn H. Moore of Hawkins. She is preceded in death by her parents and step-son, Paul Darin Russell.
