Graveside services for L C Downing, 76, of Diana will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015, at Ore City Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Norvell officiating. Interment will be in the Ore City Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Downing passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Downing was born June 8, 1939, in Ore City to Joseph Riley and Erma Lee Dillon Downing. He was a self-employed mechanic and service station owner, having owned a Texaco Station, Phillip 66 Station in Longview and Downing Auto in Diana. He had lived in Diana for 44 years and was a member of the Baptist faith. Mr. Downing is survived by his wife, Dorothy Downing of Diana; sons, Larry Downing and wife, Judy of Longview and Terry Downing and wife, Angie of Diana; daughter, Laura Trotter of Hallsville; sister, Ima Jean Turner of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Erma Downing; brothers, Leland Downing, Sunny Downing; sisters, Denisa Downing, Gerthia Wood, Bertie Hill, Bernice Durbin and Willie Salinas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home � Diana.
